What is Somatic Experiencing®?
Somatic Experiencing® is about our embodied experiences. Gaining awareness of our body helps us understand ourselves our thoughts and emotions better.
Suppressing anxieties and challenging thought patterns can often cause us to feel numb, or develop a disconnect between our external and internal experiences.
This natural ‘fight, flight or freeze’ response effects us all to different extents, at different stages of our lives.
With Somatic Experiencing®, we are supported to reconnect the two. It helps us connect with our feelings and emotions, allowing us to make choices in an empowered way, rather than being controlled by unconscious triggers and conditioning.
This practice can help us deepen into knowing ourselves more intimately, giving us more choice in our lives.
