How It Works

Therapy is a commitment to yourself to develop a deeper self awareness, where you can recognise patterns and make kinder, more positive choices for yourself and those around you.

By bringing awareness and understanding to what is causing us pain or problems, we can learn to make choices around how it effects us.

Am I the right therapist for you?

It is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist.  This is why we start by exploring whether I am the right person to work with you.

We do this first with a free telephone consultation, which lasts around 20-30 minutes. It gives you the chance to ask me any questions, and for me to ask you some in return.

There is no rush to make this decision or pressure to continue working with me at any point.  The priority is that you work with someone you can trust.

Your First Session.

If we decide we would like to work together we then book our first face to face session.

This will be held in a private therapy room at either Heath Village Esher, or Synergy Clinic Addlestone.

We start slow, making sure you are comfortable with both me and your environment.

Creating Routine.

Routine can be helpful during the early stages of therapy, providing some structure and manageability, whilst giving you the chance to open up about what you are experiencing.

This gives you the security and structure to start exploring your needs and how best your therapy can help you.

How long should
therapy last?

Just as physical therapy takes time, patience and commitment, so does psychological therapy.

Neither have a set time limit, but are instead paced and guided by your personal needs, goals and learnings.

To create long lasting and deep change, it is good to remember that your process, is your process alone. It is not to be compared, managed or rushed.
